  15. <p>    Even for the rabid London press, it was going too far. Just
  16. days before Christmas, Richard Blackwell, the noted purveyor of
  17. worst-dressed lists, carped that the Duchess of York, the former
  18. Sarah Ferguson, looked "as if she makes beds in Ireland, or
  19. milks cows." The remarks came as the newly svelte Fergie was
  20. having daughter Beatrice christened last week. The tabloids,
  21. merciless till recently about the duchess's pudginess, leaped to
  22. defend her. WHAT A JERK, howled the Sun. The Daily Mirror railed
  23. that Blackwell was not one to point fingers, having had four
  24. face-lifts. No need for a fifth -- off with his head!
